It seems like each time the editor is ready to send the Newsletter to print, they
have to call me for this special letter. I generally hate to write, but once I start, it seems to turn
into a book. It’s easier to express my comments verbally, but some say that if you give me a microphone,
I can’t stop talking.
I have to say that it is really SAD that for a community of 1,128
homeowners, the board only gets the support from a little more than a handful of residents that show up
at our workshop or board meetings. To those homeowners’ I would like to express my sincere thanks.
If more homeowners come to the board meetings, or joined a committee, it would make life easier for your board of directors
to get more things done!
When a person buys a home in Lake Charles, they know that they are buying into a community
where there are rules and regulations. We all have the “blue book”, and
also the Quick Reference Guide that simplifies what our rules and regulations are, and that it should be adhered too. If someone
does not like to follow rules and regulations where they live, then one should not consider buying into this type of community.
Our rules, in many instances duplicate what the laws are in Port St. Lucie. Some examples of these rules
to be adhered to are:
1) Dogs must be on a leash at all times when outside, and you must pick up after the
dog . 2) Maintain the Speed Limit (in Lake Charles it’s 25 MPH), 3) Stop throwing
trash out your car window, and a simple Lake Charles request when in the pool area would be for homeowners and/or their guests
to clean up after using the pool area and replace the chairs!
Those who were at our last Board Meeting
on December 1st became aware of that the deactivation of the transponders and prox cards will
now occur for those homeowners who are monetary delinquent to the association of 90 days or more. All other homeowners are
asked NOT to open the pool gate for someone without a prox card, or NOT to open the back entrance gate to the community for
someone whose transponder does not work. If a transponder does not work, entry must then be made through the front entrance
via the Security Guard. Anyone caught tailgating at the back gate and/or causing damage to the gate will
be subject to a violation fine processed by the covenants committee.
And last but not least, I hope you
all have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
